Launching Urban Label Jewelry using Headless Shopify

Urban Label Jewelry is a young jewelry brand. Their brand name "Urban Label" comes from the idea of attaching an urban label to the jewelry. They do this by releasing collections inspired by cities from around the world. Urban Label mainly sells on-trend jewelry. They focus on earrings, rings, necklaces, and bracelets.

Urban Label was looking for a fast website with a custom feel to it. They were not in the market for buying a theme and customizing that, but were interested in a truly custom experience. Therefore, we decided to go with a Headless eCommerce stack with Next.js, and Shopify. This allows us to fully customize every aspect of the website and deploy changes to the website quickly while paired up with a modern development platform like Netlify. Expensive hosting plans are not necessary as most routes can be cached efficiently. Moreover, we are able to pick and choose services to extend the website as business needs arise.

Besides the developer experience, the editorial experience matters too. This is achieved using Sanity, where we are able to sync Shopify data automatically, making it easy to reference products in other content of the website like landing pages.

Landing pages can be built using reusable sections in Sanity Studio, making it possible for content editors to create pages without the need to contact a developer.

Using Headless eCommerce has allowed us to iterate faster and improve page load times, resulting in a truly scalable website. Preparing the online store for heavy traffic in the future.
