Building a Custom File Sharing WordPress Plugin

Hydrautronics was looking for a branded system to share files with colleagues and clients. As they already had a WordPress website, we decided to extend the WordPress website with a custom plugin.

This plugin lets WordPress users create a transfer from the WordPress admin dashboard they are already familiar with. When creating a new transfer, an expiration date can be set after which the transfer is automatically deleted. After the transfer is created, it is accessible on the front-end on a password protected page. Each transfer has a unique password. As these transfers can be quite large, therefore a chunked upload strategy is implemented via a custom API endpoint.
